Current Distribution on a Short-Circuited Lossless LineIf the distant end of the line is short circuited, the current in the short circuit is a maximum value. For these phenomena to occur it is necessary that the magnetic field and current component of an electromagnetic wave be reflected with no change in phase from a short-circuited end of a line. For this reason, Fig. 6 applies, and, if the relations are studied for several different initial waves, Fig. 6(e) results, which is the "current standing wave".
