Vacuum-Tube Telephone Repeaters

As indicated in Fig. 4, a vacuum-tube telephone repeater12 consists of two parts: the vacuum-tube amplifier (page 285) and the associated circuit and equipment. The repeaters used for voice-frequency circuits employ either tri-odes or pentodes in class A (page 291), In the carrier-frequency circuits the repeaters are often pentodes in class A feedback amplifier circuits (page 300). Only voice-frequency repeaters will be discussed in the pages immediately following.
