Type H Carrier Telephone System

The type H39,40 is a single-channel system (Fig. 18) used on open-wire circuits about 100 to 200 miles long. Copper oxide modulators and demodulators are used, the carrier is suppressed, and one sideband is transmitted. This system is provided with a rectifier and can be operated from a 110-volt, 60-cycle source.
