Example 6
The region in Example 5 is rotated about the x-axis. Find the volume of the solid of revolution. We use the Disc Method because the rotation is about the axis of the independent variable. The volume formula gives us an improper integral.
So the solid shown in Figure 6.7.5 has finite volume V = 3π.
