This surface has the shape of a saddle. It intersects a horizontal plane z = z_{0 }in a hyperbola, and a vertical plane x = x_{0} or y = y_{0} in a parabola (Figure 11.1.11). Figure 11.1.11 We shall describe a method for sketching cylinders and then other graphs in space. We concentrate on a finite portion of (x, y, z) space.
