How can I fit a healthy diet into my daily life?

  1. Take your time: Always eat calmly. In that way, the brain notices when the stomach is full.
  2. Eat natural: Untreated foods like fresh fruits, whole-meal products, plain yoghurt and vegetables are better than junk food!
  3. Enjoy consciously: Enjoy every bite!
  4. No restrictions: If you eat healthy for the most part, you can treat yourself to an ice cream or a piece of cake from time to time.
  5. Do not eat out of a habit or as a favour: There is no reason to eat just because its 'mealtime', because all others eat or because the host would be disappointed. Eat because you are hungry!
  6. Change of diet: If you want to start eating healthy, change your diet slowly. For example, eat a piece of fruit instead of sweets for a start.
  7. Use variety: When you shop at a market, you will get to know many new foods. A healthy diet is not boring!
  8. It's better to throw something away: You don’t have to eat everything on the plate if you are already full. It is better that the food goes into the garbage bin than into your body as fat.
  9. Don’t be grim: Always concentrate on the nice things of life - healthy, tasty food, a sport that is fun, a good book, a funny movie...
  10. Combine alimentation and sport: Healthy food and sport always go together! You don’t have to become a professional athlete for that. It is often enough to use the stairs instead of the elevator or walk shorter distances on foot.
