EfficiencyAuthor: E.E. Kimberly The power efficiency of a generator is the ratio of the power output to the power input. It may be expressed as follows:
Inasmuch as power input equals the sum of the power output and the power losses, the efficiency may also be expressed by the following relation: Efficiency, in This efficiency is called the conventional efficiency. The efficiency of a generator may be measured by loading, if a calibrated prime mover and a load of sufficient capacity are available. This efficiency is called the direct efficiency.
