This edition of the eBook "PNG - The Definitive Guide" is based on the printed copy of Greg Roelofs' book originally published by O'Reilly in 1999. Although the topics covered in this book may seem to be partly outdated we included it into the VIAS ebook collection simply for its clear concept and the thorough discussion of the PNG format. Thus we took the HTML version of this book (which has been published by under the GNU license) and compiled it into an ebook comparable in style and organisation to the other VIAS ebooks.

Finally, we decided to additionally publish this eBook as an MS Windows HTMLHelp file offering the same navigational structures as the Web-based version. We hope that this service makes it easier to locate the desired information quickly and easily.
