Mercury
Michelangelo Quadrangle

Mariner 10 photomosaic of SW Michelangelo quadrangle, Mercury. This mosaic was produced from images taken during the first two of Mariner 10's three flybys of Mercury. A number of scarps are visible in the lower portion of the image, the longest is the crescent shaped Haro Rupes directly below the center of the image, which cuts two adjacent craters. To the left of the crater is the barely visible 390 km diameter Dostoevskij crater, which holds a double crater and a number of smaller craters on its flat floor. North is up.
