Apollo 11 Command Module Over The The Moon After Separation

This photograph of the Apollo 11 Command Module (CM) was taken from the Lunar Module (LM) after separation, just before the LM's historic ascent to the Moon. The lunar surface below is in the north central Sea of Fertility, centered at 51 degree east longitude, 1 degree north latitude. The surface is approximately 125 km below the two spacecraft. The CM is 3.9 meters in diameter. Armstrong and Aldrin are aboard the LM, Collins aboard the CM. (Apollo 11, AS11-37-5445)
