Annotations offer a convenient way to insert short notes and comments on any of the text pages. The annotations are always marked as private to the current user, unless he or she explicitely wishes to publish the notes. Thus the student can be assured that his notes don't become available to the public, even if Teach/Me is operated in a networked environment. If several users are sharing a common personal computer, the annotations are linked to the particular user. Any user on the PC may change only his or her own notes.
