In
order to understand the concepts and ideas behind some method, learning
by doing is more valuable than studying difficult text pages. Teach/Me
therefore provides interactive examples for the student which can be controlled
by the student. The learner may "play" with the example, changing parameters
and experimenting with different setups.
In the figure on the right an example is shown which visualizes the effects of outliers to regression lines. The user may pick up a point with the mouse and move it across the chart. The resulting regression line is automatically adjusted after each movement, showing the effect in an immediate and impressive way. In addition, the user may repeat the experiment with changed parameters, such as the number of data points, or the amount of noise in the data.
