In addition to the CDROM-based single user editions, both Teach/Me-Data Analysis (English) and
Teach/Me-Datenanalyse (German) are available online. The online access is free for registered
customers and can be used to obtain the latest update by drawing an offline copy of it.
In order to access the online version you have to perform the following steps:
- Download the latest Coimbra Viewer
and install it on your PC. Be careful to use the latest release of the viewer (1.199 or higher) since only this
version supports the multi-server set-up we have chosen for Teach/Me.
- Download the database profile, which is required to access the corresponding online version:
English Version: cmb_tmdatanal2eng_vias_ro.cpf
German Version: cmb_tmdatanal2germ_vias_ro.cpf
Please note that in order to download the database profiles some Web browsers require
to right click the links above and select the command "Save Link As" from the context menu.
Hint: There are reports that some versions of Netscape do not correctly store these binary database profiles. If you are using Netscape, you should download the appropriate zipped version and unpack it before proceeding with the next step.
English Version: cmb_tmdatanal2eng_vias_ro.zip
German Version: cmb_tmdatanal2germ_vias_ro.zip
- Start the Coimbra Viewer and attach the database profile. After having attached the database
you will find the corresponding Teach/Me version in the list of available electronic books. Simply open the
book by double-clicking it. Thereafter you will be asked for your user ID and password. Please note that
Teach/Me is set up in a multi-server environment; thus Coimbra will first try to find out which server
offers the best connectivity and will then connect to this particular server. The selected server may change from
session to session, guaranteeing maximum performance.
- We recommend to create a local offline copy if you are using Teach/Me on a regular basis,
because access to the offline copy will be much faster and you need not to be online while working
with Teach/Me. However, the first set-up of the offline copy will take considerable time (between 30 minutes and 3 hours - more than 2000 Files (approx. 22 Mbytes) have to be downloaded). So
there is a trade-off between quick access and one-time set-up efforts.
You may synchronize your local offline copy whenever you want. More details about
working with the offline manager can be found in the Coimbra help file and on this page.
