Types of Problems Involved

Author: E.E. Kimberly

The economical use of electrical apparatus demands the intelligent analysis of many problems of the type common to all types of engineering, and also of some problems peculiar to electrical engineering alone. There are problems involving economic life, efficiency, and other items of operating cost. These items are common to all kinds of machinery and other structures. Then there are problems of energy rates, problems of uneconomic use of invested capital because of low power factor, and problems of personal safety, which are encountered only in the application and use of electrical devices.
