Phase-Shifting Devices

Author: E.E. Kimberly

In the application of many electronic devices it is necessary to shift the phase of the grid voltage relative to the anode voltage, in order to adjust the tube firing point in the anode-voltage cycle. The circuits of Fig. 28-14 are suitable for such phase control. By proper choice of the circuit elements in (a), (b), and (c), the angle of voltage phase shift, θ, may be made as great as 165°. Any of these circuits may be found incorporated in control circuits requiring phase shift.
