Astronaut Sets Up Easep

Apollo 11 astronaut Edwin Aldrin deploying the Early Apollo Science Experiments Package (EASEP). The package consists of a seismometer on the ground in front of Aldrin powered by a solar panel to the left. The white rod jutting out of the top of the instrument is the antenna to send the results back to Earth. Partially hidden behind Aldrin's right hand is the laser ranging retroreflector.
