Figure 11 F shows the circuit and waveform of a three-phase rectifier. The " three-phase " refers to the supply line, which is the equivalent of three generators, each producing a sine wave 120° out of phase with the other. Thus the output voltage has a frequency three times that of the supply and is comparatively free from ripple.
