Let's answer the question: What makes a business office work that doesn't work over a computer network. The answer is: The presence of true and timely knowledge. When people enter a business office complete with all the people there, they know that all the true knowledge of the business is there and available in the minds of the other workers. This is called the lore or common knowledge of the corporation. If some knowledge is needed to make a decision then it is just a matter of asking another worker and the lore (knowledge) will be explained to them. The only problem here is that the knowledge used to make the decision is not recorded and may soon be forgotten. This also ensures that when new knowledge is created it becomes available to all net workers at the same time.
