How Business Works

Let's answer the question: What makes a business office work that doesn't work over a computer network. The answer is: The presence of true and timely knowledge. When people enter a business office complete with all the people there, they know that all the true knowledge of the business is there and available in the minds of the other workers. This is called the lore or common knowledge of the corporation. If some knowledge is needed to make a decision then it is just a matter of asking another worker and the lore (knowledge) will be explained to them. The only problem here is that the knowledge used to make the decision is not recorded and may soon be forgotten. With ISSU every transaction like this goes into the historical record so that new workers in the future can understand why certain decisions were made. ISSU will bring the presence of true knowledge to the Internet.

If a worker is attached to their company only via a telecommunication line, then all they get is information and it would be up to them to translate it into knowledge. As stated before translating information into knowledge is an imperfect art especially when you are dealing with an ambiguous language like English. Getting only information puts a net worker at a distinct disadvantage to other office workers that may actually be at the office. Another problem is that when new knowledge is created at the office, it takes time and energy to convert the knowledge into information and transmit it to a net worker. In many cases the new knowledge never gets sent, and that puts the net worker at a disadvantage. By eliminating the business office completely all the workers become net workers and this forces them to work from the same knowledge base. This also ensures that when new knowledge is created it becomes available to all net workers at the same time.

Business has always been all about efficiency and ISSU will bring a new level of efficiency to the competitive business environment. Decisions that took days and many face-to-face meetings will be done in minutes using ISSU. ISSU will automatically compile all the available knowledge needed to make a decision and present it to the correct qualified authors for them to decide and possibly vote on the proper procedural knowledge path to take. The dot-issu companies will become so much more efficient than their office competitors that soon all companies will be forced to use ISSU. Offices may linger on for a while with workers using ISSU at an office but as confidence builds in the efficiency and capability of ISSU the expense of maintaining an office building will become a needless burden. The workers will then be freed from unpaid commuting hours, the cost of fuel, and automobile maintenance.
