Circular Cylinder

A circular right cylinder, commonly called "cylinder", is created by moving a line which is perpendicular to the area of the circle along this circle.

The volume V of this cylinder is given by

V = r2ph,

its surface S (including the top and bottom face) is given by

S = 2rph + 2r2p = 2rp(h+r).
