Cylindrical Wedge

A cylindrical wedge can be created from a cylinder by slicing it with a plane that intersects the base of the cylinder.

The volume V of the wegde is given by

If the base is a semicircle (i.e. b = 0 and a = r), the volume can be calculated as follows:

V = 2hr2/3.
